Activity #1
The Happy Days episode I watched was Haunted -The Happy Days Halloween Episode.

I learned a few things from watching the episode. First I learned that everyone in the show was sassy. Some of the "shots" they took at each other were really funny. The humour was harmless and there was no profanity, but still really funny. I noticed that there are still some similarities to the present like Marion making Joanie wear her coat on halloween and not being able to eat the unwrapped candy. People seemed a lot more easy going in the 50's. Everyone seemed happy which makes sense considering it is called Happy Days. It was a very social environment, everybody knew everybody and the whole community got involved like when the people gathered together at Arnolds' to help decorate. People talked to each other in person instead of texting because technology was limited to house phones, radios and television. Things seemed very simple and innocent.
I can use this to help me get into the Calendar Girl character with having an easy going and friendly presence. And also remember it is very community based and need to be involved in the whole positive atmosphere while on stage. It helped seeing how they dressed and wore there hair to get a better picture of what our costumes might look like. Oh and I will leave my iPhone backstage ;)

Get Singing!
Assignment #1
Activity #3
Listening to the Happy Days soundtrack can be summed up in one word; entertaining. Now, since you probably want me to elaborate, I shall. First reason that this soundtrack was entertaining were the lyrics, paying close attention to them and not zoning out led me to find quite a few lyrics that made me grin and laugh. Mmm mmm linoleum! The other reason I found this experience entertaining was how cheesy some of these songs are. (Some examples are Leopards Are We/ The plaque and Bikini Beauty) because the topics of what they're singing about are so quirky and simple I found it quite amusing.
My Favourite song is The Pink is in Town, sung By Pinkie. It's about when Pinkie comes back in town for a stop on her motorcycle tour. My image of Pinkie is that she has a large personality or presence. I envision her coming back into town as a big deal that everyone would be taking about. When she walks in to Arnolds', people would stop what they are doing to look at her. Some would whisper/gossip among themselves, saying things like "Look it's Pinkie" or "Look at what she's wearing" etc.. Guys that are with their girlfriends stare at Pinkie which makes the girlfriend upset because she is being ignored. More people come in to Arnolds' just get a glimpse of her.
The song I liked the least on this soundtrack was Dancing On The Moon, sung by Pinkie and Fonzie. It's about their relationship and their love for each other. The reason it is my least favourite is because I have little appreciation for slow songs, as in there's few that I do like. Its not a bad song I just prefer listening to faster beats. To make it more engaging you could put a dance beat on this song, like they do with slow songs on the radio. That being said it would probably make it worse, much like the songs on the radio.
